Here at Calvary Knoxville, we believe strongly in the Biblically grounded benefits of our intimate small group settings that we call kinship. In Acts 2:42, the early church continued steadfastly in the apostle’s doctrine (the Bible), fellowship, bread breaking, and prayers. Much of the life of the early church revolved around intimate, God-centered, Biblically-grounded fellowship with one another. Despite incredible resistance and unprecedented persecution, their oneness in Christ would be unstoppable. Early in the book of Acts, we are told that the church was in accord and had all things in common. People began selling possessions so that the church leaders would be able to help those in need as the Lord led. This church placed value on people, not possessions.

The mission at Calvary Knoxville is that everyone here is the best fed and most loved. As the Lord’s shLord’se are to be fed the entire counsel of scripture and love our neighbor as ourselves. In fact, Jesus even said that the world would know that we are His disciples because of the love we show one another. Our Kinships are designed for precisely that purpose. With groups of 12 or less, we can build lasting, intimate friendships grounded in God’s word. God’s taught us to pray and love one another with the love Christ has so graciously given us.
